2023 Inaugural Preservation Month Conference Success!
A big thank you to our members, partners, sponsors (CCAD, Coon Restoration, MKSK, Orange Barrel Media, Schooley Caldwell) and Columbus for coming out to make our inaugural conference a success! This year Heritage Ohio, SHPO, our central Ohio historical societies, and many elected representatives came together to talk all things #preserveCBUS. During the conference we held our 2023 Preservation Awards and Ed Lentz Prize (Ann Seran 2023 Winner) ceremony. Save the Date for next year’s conference at CCAD on May 20-21, 2024. Save the Date: Buildings Reborn August 16, 2023 at Jackie O’s
Our annual celebration of buildings reopened to activate our greater Columbus community is back again at Jackie O’s on Fourth. Early-bird tickets start July 1, 2023. Astra Studios completed the redesign of this building for Jackie O’s sustainable brewer. Make sure you join us for an evening of celebrating our Columbus partners and FUNdraising!

 

Save the Date - Bike CBUSLDMRKS is Back! 
After a number of years, we are returning to the bike with Columbus Twitter influencer, preservationist, and biking advocate @CycleCbus July 22, August 26, and September 23 (rain dates to be the following Saturday). Stay tuned for more details!

 

Pride Month Brings in Another CBUS Historic Marker!

A Kelton House Juneteenth
The Kelton House Museum and Garden will host a special Juneteenth Event on June 19, 2023. The celebration will focus on music and storytelling to lift the spirit and soul. The museum will open at 4 pm with the featured presentation beginning at 6 pm. Gabrielle Solange, singer, poet, entertainer and inspiration will be the keynote. Prior Most Endangered Site, Starling Elementary, Becomes Affordable Housing!
Commissioner Kevin L. Boyce helped break ground on a new affordable housing project. The Starling Yard community in Franklinton will incorporate part of the historic Starling Middle School building into its construction and will offer over 90 new affordable units with modern amenities.
